“For thou, Lord, art good, and ready to forgive; and plenteous in mercy unto all them that call upon thee … In the day of my trouble I will call upon thee: for thou wilt answer me.” – Psalm 86:5,7

Realistically speaking, every day has trouble; some days it is more obvious than others.

“Beloved, think it not strange concerning the fiery trial which is to try you, as though some strange thing happened unto you” – 1st Peter 4:12

Likewise, every day is a day to call on God, rest in his protection, act with his guidance, and live in his grace and mercy.

“[R]ejoice, inasmuch as ye are partakers of Christ’s sufferings; that, when his glory shall be revealed, ye may be glad also with exceeding joy.” – 1st Peter 4:13

>No Fear in Troubled Times

“And when ye shall hear of wars and rumours of wars, be ye not troubled: for such things must needs be … nation shall rise against nation … and there shall be earthquakes in divers places, and there shall be famines and troubles – Mark 13:7-8

Jesus predicted that before his return some fearful things would happen.

Could he have been referring to just the sort of things we see now – terrorists, Middle East wars, global warming fears (real or imagined); political and geological problems increasing everywhere? I think so.

Ahead of time he told us this so his people would trust his care and not be afraid like those without hope or faith.

We choose to believe in his personal care, acting from faith not fear.
